If You Had $1 Million Bucks, to Only Spend on Birding, How Would You Spend It?
Yep. This is wishful thinking — I know. BUT. Sometimes it’s fun to consider the “What ifs…” in life.
I have no idea how I’d end up with a million bucks (I don’t play the lottery), but if I had $1 Million bucks to spend on birding, this is how I would spend it…
Half A Million For Birding
First, I would hire an awesome team to help me build AnimalPerspectives.Com.
The first position would be for another writer to write exclusively in Spanish. That way Animal Perspectives could begin to really hone in on underrepresented birders in the U.S. birding community.
The second position would be for another writer to write in English, but with a different perspective on what readers might want to learn about. That way I could have more fresh and exciting content for you, the reader!
The third position would be for a photographer/videographer. Don’t get me wrong, I love photographing/videoing wild birds, but being able to pay another photographer for their photos would help support their art form and add another perspective to Animal Perspectives.
What can I say, I’m all about different perspectives (and teamwork)!
That’s the just the first thing I would do if $1 Million bucks was dropped in my lap. Obviously, should AnimalPerspectives.Com make a profit (right now, it isn’t), I will start hiring immediately — way before I come into a million bucks! Until then, I am still a one-woman show.
Half A Million For Ornithology
The Second way I’d spend a million bucks, would be to fund and sponsor research in ornithology and bird watching programs. I’m not sure how this would be done.
Perhaps either through a reputable organization, or independently. Something tells me I have a lot of time to figure it out! LOL!
Any way, I think it’s safe to say if I had a million dollars, I would know how to spend it and spend it well!
